Exploring real-world issues.
Informed by real-world experience.
Prior to academia, I managed operations at KIPP NYC, the largest charter school network in the US, and worked in Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy & Operations practice as a management consultant. At Deloitte, I supported clients in a broad range of industries including financial services, consumer products, manufacturing, and the public sector. I specialized in strategic effectiveness, organizational design, governance, and change processes.
I am motivated to study real issues in the real world that have significant consequences for organizations and society. What causes misconduct, and why is it so difficult to root out? What inspires individuals and organizations to pursue social good, act prosocially, and improve society? I explore these fundamental social issues through a sociological and organizational theory lens and study how norms and social structures contribute to outcomes related to wrongdoing and social responsibility in different contexts.
I graduated summa cum laude from Duke University and completed my PhD in Management & Organizations at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. In my free time I love to travel and explore new places. I have been a classically-trained pianist and soprano for over 20 years.
